A tragic story of an autistic young student's descent into isolation. Hearing some of his schoolfellows engaged in a conversation about physics and math-- the only subjects he feels comfortable discussing-- he attempts, in his heart-breakingly artless way, to join in. Unfortunately, his inability to read social cues intervenes, preventing him from realizing that in actuality he is observing an attempt to flirt. The other students, being only slightly less autistic, can only respond by diligently ignoring him. How else could the hat guy be expected to respond?
