"I'm an Apple user, which means I'm at the mercy of some repair shop on those distressingly-regular occasions when my phone or laptop breaks. It also means that I think every commonplace observation that passes through my head is remarkably incisive, and that when my conscience is troubled by something, I try to ward off the feeling by resolving to feel vaguely uncomfortable about it instead of making a judgment one way or the other, because that might actually demand something from me."
