Maybe Trump's presidency was the weirdest thing about 2016, but if you still haven't gotten used to it by this point you're getting old.

He expects the world to arrange itself to minimize inconveniences to him. Trump's presidency is the "weirdest thing about 2019" because Randall doesn't like thinking about it. Similarly, the "second weirdest" is something he doesn't like having to do, even "sometimes". As with the fact checking, Randall is angered that other people aren't sufficiently exerting themselves to keep him from having to confront disagreeable realities.
